Courtney Smith of Lokah Wellness, LLC is a Yoga Teacher and Usui Reiki 2 Practitioner.  Her focus is to help support the body’s ideal environment through movement, energetic balance, sound, and relaxation.  As a teacher, she focuses on the slower-paced forms of yoga and the mind/body/spirit connection.  She helps guide your movement towards slowing down, breathing deeply, and cultivating a sense of well-being and wholeness.  She believes her purpose as a teacher is to facilitate movement in the body to help balance its energetic system, which promotes relaxation, and consequently, aids in healing the body, mind, and spirit.

Courtney has always lived a physically active and healthy lifestyle.  She was a college athlete, weightlifter, gymnast, and cheerleader.  During her freshman year of college, she contracted Lyme dis-ease, unbeknownst to her at the time.  After fifteen years of seemingly unrelated, severe symptoms, she finally discovered a diagnosis… and yoga, as well as the power of sound, and energy (reiki).  She started with gentle 30 minute yoga classes and felt results quickly within: physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  The consistent practices of yoga, sound, and energy along with psychotherapy and medical intervention were collectively key components in healing a history past trauma as well.  Yoga, sound, and energy practices have been indispensable in helping her body, mind, and soul heal, and she yearns to share this knowledge and art of good health with others.
