
ROBIN CRAWFORD, LMHC

Robin uses Psychoeducation as a simple approach to teach family members problem-solving and communication skills to support prevention of future episodes. She believes in using many tools to help people reach their goals, i.e., CBT, TF-CBT, Mindfulness techniques, motivational interviewing, and other holistic techniques, to help individuals become what they want to become. But she believes psychoeducation helps deliver behaviorual training to improve illness insight, early symptom identification and development of coping strategies.
Robin has many years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults dealing with trauma, sexual abuse, and substance related issues, and gained most of her experience as a Therapist working at Park Center, Inc. She is currently a member of the IN-AJSOP where she received a CSAYC and MEGA credentialing which qualifies her to administer clinical psychosexual risk assessments. Her experience works toward advancing the outcomes for youth/families with sexual behavior problems for the State of Indiana and Department of Children Services (DCS).
Robin enjoys people and compassionate with helping others reach their potential as human beings. Prior to becoming a mental health counselor, Robin worked over 8 years in various roles in the Fort Wayne Community Schools district. She received a Professional Educator's License specializing in School Counseling from the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Robin currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor in the Psychology Department at Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Robin meets with clients through Telehealth only at this time.
Robin received her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and have a record of many years of working in the human service field. She has worked as a Therapist for 8 years and during this time she has provided staff clinical trainings, and have provided student intern clinical supervision. She also enjoys providing conference presentations which the last face to face was done at the 75th Annual Indiana Association of Resources and Child Advocacy's Conference (IARCA). Robin is a member of The Society of Black Mental Health Professionals in which their mission is to inform, educate to help remove the stigma of mental health in the black community.
