ADAM MOUNSEY, LMHCA

Adam believes that authenticity is essential to the therapeutic relationship for people to feel accepted and understood. He uses an integrated/eclectic orientation that encompasses an array of approaches to understanding human behavior and the causes of psychological distress. His theoretical framework is evolutionary psychology, exploring how the human mind has evolved to interpret modern social environments and experiences that influence our thoughts and behaviors.
Adam has extensive experience with all ages of depression, anxiety, ODD, trauma, occupation, poverty, existential crisis, family relationships and functioning, couples, mediation, and conflict resolution.
Adam utilizes many therapeutic modalities in his practice including; Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychoanalysis, Person Centered, and Trauma Focused CBT.
Adam completed his masters in Mental Health Counseling at Walden University and his undergraduate at Purdue. He continues to work in community mental health with adolescents, as he has done for 8 years.
