HEATHER DEMARS, LMHCA

Heather (she/her) believes individuals thrive when they feel free to live a self-determined life that is uniquely and personally meaningful and fulfilling. She recognizes that this can seem difficult or impossible when trauma, depression, anxiety, interpersonal stress, or other elements of life become more than we can manage on our own. Heather sees the counseling process as a joint endeavor to better understand your unique experience in the world – your strengths, your dreams, and what may be acting as barriers to growth, peace, and self-actualization.
Heather is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, who is a certified Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapist and prioritizes creating a counseling relationship built on acceptance, safety, trust, and authentic connection. She utilizes trauma-informed, evidence-based practices rooted in humanistic, existential counseling that incorporate elements of mindfulness, experiential and somatic techniques, parts work, inner-child work, and creativity in many forms during counseling sessions.
Heather considers it a tremendous honor to walk with clients through the many complexities of life. She finds exquisite beauty in the full scope of human experience and the unique nature of every individual. Heather welcomes clients ages 16+ of any race, ability, religion, gender and sexual orientation and identity. LGBTQ+ and non-monogamy allied and affirming.
