FITNESS FOR DUTY EVALUATION
A Fitness For Duty evaluation is an assessment requested by an employer, to determine if psychological issues are interfering with an employee’s functioning such that he/she is unable to perform essential job requirements; this also includes an evaluation of whether the individual poses an increased risk of harm to self or others. When completing these evaluations, we maintain a position of neutrality and do not advocate for either the employer or the employee.
There are a number of ways an employee’s mental health issues can interfere with his/her functioning in the workplace; some of these include:
-

-
Mood Dysregulation
-
Reliability
-
Persistence
-
Conscientiousness
-
Interpersonal Functioning
These traits, along with others, can be measured by valid and reliable personality assessment tools, and can provide a clearer picture of an individual’s fitness for duty.
