RACHEL CASHMAN, LMHCA

Rachel is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate.  Rachel enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults and is passionate about helping people heal from anxiety, OCD, depression, complex trauma, and grief.  She also enjoys helping couples and families work through their conflicts and improve their communication skills.

Rachel believes that every person possesses the inner wisdom and strength needed to overcome life’s challenges and takes a holistic approach (mind, body, and spirit) in order to assist them in doing so.  Rachel incorporates EMDR, Sand Tray, Internal Family Systems, and Ego States work into therapy.  These evidence-based techniques allow clients to look deeper into themselves and identify parts that they may have forgotten or have been neglecting.  By recovering and loving these lost parts (such as an inner child), a client is able to fully accept themselves and heal from the trauma and negative thinking patterns that temporarily separate them from their true self.

Rachel is sometimes accompanied by Vinny, a purebred Shih Tzu, who is training to become a certified therapy dog.  Vinny is quiet, calm, and loves to take naps on people’s laps.  He does not shed and enjoys having his long, soft hair brushed. Shih Tzus grow to be 10-15 pounds and are hypoallergenic.
